Flippin and Wesley, AR residents arrested on Felony Drug Charges

On 9/27/12 Kenneth Powell, age 51, of Flippin and Cherish Lambert, age 29, of Wesley Arkansas were arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class C Felony, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class D Felony, and Possession of Marijuana, a Class A Misdemeanor.

The Flippin Police Department received a crime tip from the Department’s website that Powell was residing in the Flippin area and was on the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office Most Wanted list. Officers from Flippin Police and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office opened a joint investigation and conducted surveillance and learned that the tip was accurate and that Powell was on active Probation supervision. Officers learned the outstanding felony warrant was for Failure to Comply with Probation. On 9/27/12 Officers from the Flippin Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and Probation Officers from the Arkansas Department of Community Correction conducted a home visit to Powell’s residence. During the course of that visit officers located Powell and Lambert in the residence along with an amount of methamphetamine, methamphetamine related drug paraphernalia, and marijuana. Both were arrested without incident and transported to the Marion County Jail.

Bond for Lambert was set at $10,000.00. Lambert posted bond and will appear in Marion County Circuit Court. Bond for Powell on the new charges was set at $15,000.00. He remains incarcerated with No Bond pending a court date for the outstanding warrant for Probation Violation.
