Flippin resident arrested for Felony Sexual Assault

On 5-6-12 Brandon Terhaar, age 31, of Flippin was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, a Class B Felony.

During the night of 5-5-12 officers from the Flippin Police Department responded to a call of a couple fighting at the residence Terhaar resided at in Flippin. During the course of the call officers arrested a female Alicia Benezue for Domestic Battery in the Third Degree and Disorderly Conduct. Benezue and Terhaar reside together at that residence. During the call a juvenile female advised officers that she had been inappropriately touched by Terhaar over the past month. Officers made a report to the Child Abuse Hotline regarding the allegations and officers with the Flippin Police Department and Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division initiated an investigation. On 5-6-12 after Flippin Police Officers and Investigators from the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Unit conducted a number of interviews evidence was obtained to make the arrest on Terhaar. Terhaar was arrested without incident.

Bond for Terhaar was set at $25,000.00. Terhaar has posted bond and is awaiting an appearance in Marion County Circuit Court.
