Mtn. Home Residents arrested on Felony Drug Charges

On 1-9-13 Christopher Alsup, age 28, of Mountain Home was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine, a Class C Felony, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class B Felony, and Unlawful Use of Communication Device, a Class C Felony. Charles Shelley, age 27, of Mountain Home was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class B Felony. Michael Voran, age 26, of Mountain Home was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Marijuana, a Class A Misdemeanor.

The arrests stem from a joint investigation by the Flippin Police Department and Marion County Sheriff’s Office. During the course of the investigation officers learned that Alsup was traveling to Flippin to deliver $300.00 worth of methamphetamine. Officers set up a surveillance operation. Officers from each Department located a vehicle Alsup was traveling in and made a traffic stop on it. Shelley and Voran were traveling in the vehicle with Alsup. During the course of the traffic stop officers searched the vehicle and located items for the use of methamphetamine along with other items commonly used during the sale of methamphetamine all of these items had suspected methamphetamine residue in them. Officers also located a handgun. Officers located an amount of marijuana on Voran. All three were arrested without incident and transported to the Marion County Jail.

Bond for Alsup and Shelley was set at $10,000 each. Bond for Voran was set at $895.00. The handgun was seized and the investigation continues with the possibility of more charges related to the handgun.
