St. Joe resident arrested on Felony Drug Charges

On 9-10-12 Michael Kenny, age 38, of Saint Joe, was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Marijuana, Class D Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Marijuana), a Class C Felony, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class D Felony and Unlawful Use of a Communication Device, a Class C Felony.

The arrest stems from a Cyber Crimes Investigation by the Flippin Police Department. On 9-6-12 Officers from Flippin Police responded to a post on Craigslist. The post had a picture of a marijuana smoking device and indicated the poster was looking for someone to have fun with. During the course of the investigation Kenny emailed pictures of a large quantity of marijuana to the undercover officer. On 9-9-12 Kenny traveled to the Flippin area and delivered an amount of marijuana to an undercover officer.

On 9-10-12 officers from the Flippin Police Department made contact with Arkansas State Police officers, officers from the 20th Judicial Drug Task Force, and officers the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office and advised them of the investigation. All these Departments along with officers from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office began a joint investigation regarding the picture of the marijuana Kenny had sent. Officers from each Department, working undercover, were able to go to Kenny’s residence in Searcy County and see the large amount of marijuana. Subsequently, a search warrant was served on the residence. During the course of the search warrant officers located an amount of marijuana with a street value of approximately $3,000.00.

Kenny was transported to the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office without incident. He remains incarcerated at the time of the press release pending an appearance in Court.
